  1. SRV – Dead guy does dead guy’s song real good. Barely even miss the lyrics and I think he out guitared the guitar master. I think i need to look into SRV some more.

    NMT – …

  2. “Little Wing” / Stevie Ray. One master’s tribute to another, the latter being the former’s principal inspiration. An instrumental take-off on the original, which is an interesting approach, something I associate more with jazz than rock or blues acts. Great stuff, and he certainly explores a lot of the original’s musical possibilities.

“Enough is Enough.” Weiss and Pinto. I kinda recall the original; this camped-up cover shows off the chops of Pinto in particular, who is what I believe is called a countertenor. Impressive display.

  3. Stevie Ray Vaughan – Little Wing
A beautiful, slow-burning fire here – nuanced and seductive. Reminiscent, for me, of some of Bill Frisell’s work. Wonderful.

Original is a bit of a guilty pleasure. I do generally enjoy me a Donna Summer tune &, of course, Babs stars in one of my all-time favorite movies, What’s Up Doc?. Accompanying Liz to a fair-share of Broadway shows, and other musical theater, has heightened my appreciation for a wide-variety of performers. John Pinto Jr. has a blast here showing off some major chops.
