“Stars” by Kevin Ayers
Submitted by Dave

This one hit the spot tonight. Excellent vibe and just sort of wormed its way into my skull.

“Galileo” by Indigo Girls
Submitted by Alan

Ya gotta love a song about Galileo! “King of night vision/King of insight.” The IGs do their wonderful harmonies in both voice and guitar here. I remember at the time appreciating the reference to nuclear annihilation in the song, something which was still very much on people’s minds in the early 90s.

“Full Moon Turn My Head Around” by Off Broadway
Submitted by Ed

Always love me some power pop. These guys made one really solid album, “On”, with the single “Stay In Time” hitting #51 on the billboard charts in 1979. This track was a favorite of mine from the album and still brightens my mood when I hear it.

“Life on Mars?” by David Bowie
Submitted by Ian

This may very well be my favorite Bowie song, I don’t know why, but I just love it.

“It Came Out of the Sky” by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Submitted by Bill

A deep cut from the great “Willy and the Poor Boys” LP. A political satire built around an extraterrestrial object that is never remotely described, and is called only “it.” With topical cameos by Spiro Agnew, politicking; then-governor Reagan (“Ronnie the Popular”), red-baiting; Walter (Cronkite) and Eric (Sevareid); the Vatican; et al. Glad to hear Jody wised up.
