  1. Roddy Frame – The North Star
He made wonderful tunes with Aztec Camera and has continued to do so in his solo career. Soaring, sweeping melodies with tasteful guitar. Along with Nick Heyward, a master of jangle pop. I can see where Ian heard EC – something in the arrangement (maybe the way the piano is used) reminds me of the Punch the Clock era stuff. A perfect way to start my Saturday morning. Had to listen a third time to appreciate the lyrics. I was rewarded – “…as the late summer honey light… shifts and caresses the buildings” – Love the hopefulness.

  2. “The North Star”/ R. Frame. Nice. Thoughtful, literate lyrics but not overworked about it. Nice poetic conceit of the dark sky supporting the hopeful star rather than contradicting it. “Because it’s hidden from view don’t mean it isn’t for you.” Good guitar work, too, and an excellent mix btw, can really hear it all including the vocals.

  3. “The North Star” by Roddy Frame: Enjoyed this singer/songwriter journey with smart lyrics walking through some relationship troubles I believe. The voice did sound vaguely familiar and I confirmed that this gentlemen appears to have played in the band Aztec Camera who I am kinda sorta familiar with. Solid Track
