“Stuck in a Moment” by U2
Submitted by Alan
If you don’t like U2, don’t watch the video. If fact, if you like U2, don’t watch the video. Bono can be distracting. I love this stripped down version of this song though the record version has its moments too. I just adore the line: “I’m just trying to find a decent melody, a song that I can sing in my own company.” I hear you.

“Maybe I Can Fool Everybody (Tonight)” by Crack the Sky
Submitted by Ed
Crack the Sky had the cool logo with which I adorned my school folders. I thought of this one, from their sophomore effort, for this round partly because of a review I remember reading that praised its take on the insecurities of performing – imposter syndrome before it had a name? I think I’ll choose another track from them for a future round that better showcases their fiery playing, perhaps from the excellent Live Sky album.

“(We Are) The Road Crew” by Motorhead
Submitted by Ian
Was thinking Jackson Browne, The loadout. Song is too popular. Went with Motorhead because I think Lemmy would want it that way

“The First Song” by Band of Horses
Submitted by Dave

“History Lesson – Part II” by The Minutemen
Submitted by Bill
The Minutemen’s moving autobiography. The opening line provided the title for Michael Azerrad’s history of 80s indie rock. “We were fucking corndogs …”
