U2 – don’t believe I have ever heard this song, then it got to the chorus, interesting version. I was into U2 for about 4 albums then jumped of the train.
Crack – new band to me – the vocals have a touch of Alice in Chains in the beginning, then I feel like it turns to late 70’s early 80’s pop rock. not bad.
U2 – Stuck in a Moment
My favorite song from that album. Just love the chorus – what a wonderful melody. Did not know the background and that it was after Michael Hutchence’s suicide and was basically a “row” the two goid friends never had. Bono’s persona can be a bit over-the-top, but this is a great and moving track performed beautifully here.

A solid ballad. Gives guitarist Rick Witkowski a little room to work out. Probably could have been edited a bit. A song about imposter syndrome before that was a term used. A good chill.
“Stuck in a Moment”/Bono & Edge. Very nice how a stripped down version of a familiar song can make you listen to it anew. Moving lyrics and a great chord progression; earns all of its 4:30. Bonus points for Edge’s underappreciated falsetto. Might have to learn this one on guitar!
“Maybe I Can Fool …”/Crack the Sky. Agreeable tune, with those “Abbey Road”-sounding guitar arpeggios on the chorus and the angular solo backing the nice melody and vocals. The title initially struck me as wry, but it is in fact in earnest. Side note: it is interesting on this round that the references to music making in the songs are often so fleeting as to be easily missed, or else coded. This seems to be the latter — is it about stage fright? or playing in a studio (that “glass”)?
“Stuck in a Moment” by U2: Love this song. I think it may have been towards the back of my Top 10 list competing with Sometimes You Can’t Make It On Your Own. Yes, I recently rated my top 10 with some fairly careful listens. This was some of their post 2000 material (All That You Can’t Leave Behind). This acoustic performance is an excellent version.
“Maybe I Can Fool Everybody (Tonight)” by Crack the Sky: When this started I thought I might be listening to Kansas. Similar sounds and styles to my ears. Dig that guitar lead about mid way through. Always find it interesting how tight the bass and drums are with some prog rock songs while playing fairly non standard patterns. Must take a wee bit of practice time. Solid Song.
Crack the Sky- This is like a melange of styles. The guitar work is 70’s proggy. Then there’s the poppy harmonies and there is even a Beatles/Floyd aroma that kicks in periodically. So interesting. And thaty wacky, wah, flnagey solo that drops in there. I could see this being like 5 different songs/styles that got cut up and messed around. Fake ending! Classic.
