  1. BoH – I love it it, never heard of them.. Has that very 90’s Mazzy Star, Sundays, etc. vibe to it. Dig it!

M – Wow, another bad jam from an artist I never heard of. This reminds me of late 80’s underground skater type music, Deadmilkmen. Love the guitar

  2. SO, I just looked for Band of Horses, on Amazon Prime Music, Appears its a group of guys…. My bad. Thought it was a female lead singer. Oops

  3. “The First Song”/ Band of Horses. I don;t really know this band. Nice lush sound. is that a 12-string guitar? Can’t make out many of the words but the melody is nice, and the double-time interlude.

  4. Band of Horses – The First Song
First introduced to these lads by my daughter with “The Funeral” off this same album. Similarly lush sound here. Ringing guitars floating over a mid-tempo rhythm. Would fit in well with Cocteau Twins. There’s a bit of Modest Mouse energy there as well. It reminded me of the dEUS song “Via” (https://youtu.be/zDReTTgxlBI?si=UE-xZidBapibagwE) for some reason. Good stuff.

The Minutemen – History Lesson – Part II
Bass is important in a fairly simple track from the iconic “Double Nickels on the Dime.” Perfect selection for this round.

  5. “History Lesson – Part II” by The Minutemen. Short one. Like he was talking to me from across a table at the local pub. Cool Track.

  6. Band of Horses- I don’t know BOH, though I know of them. Interesting. I think this is something that I would like. Almost like a more masculine version of Cocteau Twins–mid-tempo, swaying, atmospheric yet husky guitars with vocals-as-instrument. I can’t make out much of the words but that’s okay. I like the sliding nature of the guitar. This song really makes me wonder what their other songs are like. I’d say 6 out of 10 but my curiosity is piqued.

Minutmen- Another band that I know if more than I know. Again, I like the slidy guitar work here and I am a sucker for arpeggios. I’d like to hear a little more of the other instruments in the mix though clearly the vocals and lyrics are highlighted here. There are elements of this that remind me of old REM demos and some of the songs from Dead Letter Office. And The Shins. Very nice.
