  1. Timely song. Pun intended.
When I saw this pop up this morning I thought, “I’m is not a big Lou Reed fan.” Is I appreciate his place in music history, his influence and a handful of his songs. I usually find his talk/singing style a little flat and
his straightforward songwriting simplicity uneventful. All of that is is a preamble to say that these are the joys of this song. A driving, bullet of a rhythm guitar and simple provocative lyrics. If I was his producer I might have talked him into a different ending. But otherwise this was a great listen.

  2. LR – I would say about a decade ago, I started to dive into the Velvet Underground, which lead to NICO, which led to nightmares. (She had some really creepy songs. You ever wake up to Chelsea Girl? wooooo! anyway, I remember Lou Reed being a strange fellow, a particular video where his face melted off and he was an animatronic. then of course the iconic “Take a walk on the Wild Side” I approve.

  3. Lou Reed – There is No Time
Peak Lou Reed? I remember really liking this album, but I don’t remember this track. It strikes hard now. Insistent, crunching guitar with a strong beat powering a call to action. I hope we can avoid the cacophonous ending I enjoyed here. Certainly not a time for celebration or back slappin’.
(Pair with Midnight Oil’s “My Country Right Or Wrong”?)
