  1. A little bit of rockabiily to start the morning.

MNSR – any relation to Mojo Rising? I like it.

N-settes – I’m getting a little Motorhead vibe from this, then throw in female vocals, that’s my cup of tea

  2. Mojo Nixon & Skid Roper – I Ain’t Gonna Piss in No Jar
Got it workin’ – Love it!
“They want our piss? Let’s give it to ’em!”
    Irreverence at its finest.
(Extra points for dropping Foghorn Leghorn in dere.)

    Noisettes – Don’t Give Up
Know a little of Noisettes and have generally liked what I’ve heard. This one stood up & made me take notice. The chorus actually reminds me of Drums & Wires era XTC. It packs a wallop and has such great little noises(?). A pretty fierce & fiery guitar solo. Will seek out more Noisettes.

  3. “Don’t Give Up”/Noisettes. The rootsy side of punk, with that blues riff, and a little Black Keys-ish, though the singer reminds me of Ani DiFranco. Nice weird chord progression on the chorus. Haven’t heard of these guys, but a protest song with plenty of fight is just what’s called for.

  4. Mojo- Ya gotta love a straight ahead, 3 piece, rockabilly protest song. It sounds like if the Stray Cats got into an accident and Bryan Setzer–concussed–wandered into a dive bar where he borrowed Bill O’s guitar and the bartender used an aluminum drink tray as a cymbal. Forgot about Mojo for a minute. And is Skid Roper related to Scott?

Noisettes- Great name and catchy, scratchy song. Sounds like a little Gwen Stefani manifesting, and probably more fundamentally Throwing Muses. Maybe Thurstan Moore was sitting in the same bar listening to Brian Setzer, stole Bill O’s guitar (again) and was involved in a high speed car chase by a screaming Kim Deal.

Straight ahead twangy rocker. never would have thought singing pee pee in a song would work but it did. Loved the vocal delivery…cool, funny romp…..early 80s I presume
