  1. I love the 3/4 time signature. I felt like doing a waltz. Nothing really stands out here but overall, a song pleasing to the ear.

  2. John Prine – Donald & Lydia
Ah, J.P. returns to MyFive with a tale of unrequited love (10 miles away).

    Prime Prine.

  3. Prine- Like my esteemed colleague above, I like the 3/4 time as well. The slide guitar in the back is a nice touch. I like the “bunk beds/shaved heads” couplet. I found this track falling into a standard country groove. My immediate association to it was The Protest Song on Monty Python’s Live at City Center album (“Rain on a tin roof sounds like a drum”). I didn’t find it particularly notable though pleasant nonetheless.

  4. “Donald and Lydia” by John Prine: In years past I would have past by a song like this very quickly as more of that dang country music. I have grown very fond of Mr. Prine over the years however and lean in close when he tells a story; like sittin around a camp fire
