  1. Everyday- This song is a revelation. Quiet and intimate, it borders on a capella. Buddy’s voice is delicate and earnest and you can hear the sweetness and genuineness in there. I think the percussion is one of the Crickets slapping his knees. While I love the subtle use of the bells early in the song, I found the lead part frankly terrible. There is no swing or nuance to it and it ruins the beautiful rhythms previously established. You can see how a song like this would inspire the young Beatles who looked up to Buddy. This is a simple beautifully crafted and executed song.

  3. “Everyday” by Buddy Holly: I know this song well but never really listened to it closely. Almost has a Christmas vibe to my ears (seasonal)….. Hallmark movie pick for the music supervisor. Not bad at’all
